BGaming and Cream Team release Red and Hot Chilli slot with first-ever Gamble feature

BGaming has teamed up with Cream Team, the studio responsible for Sweet Samurai, to launch a new slot called Red and Hot Chilli. The title joins BGaming's #Entertainment portfolio and combines several familiar mechanics with one new addition.

The game is played on a grid of five rows and five reels with 20 paylines. It has an RTP of 96.35%, medium/low volatility, a bet range of 0.10 to 100 and a maximum win of 5,000x the stake.

The theme draws on Mexican culture and a love of hot food. A moustached chilli pepper in a sombrero stands beside the reels as the main character, reacting to wins by firing a pistol and eating Lucky Coins that land on the reels. Symbols include sombreros, avocados, maracas, Margaritas and bottles of Tabasco sauce. Landing three Lucky Coins anywhere on the board produces wins, with each coin carrying a value of up to 100x the base bet. The chilli pepper acts as the Wild, substituting for all paying symbols except Scatters and the Lucky Coin.

The bonus game is triggered by collecting three or more Bonus symbols and features a chicken character that also appears in the base game. Players are taken to a grid of mystery boxes, with some boxes already open depending on how many Scatters triggered the round. They then open further boxes to reveal coins, multipliers, bags of gold or chillies. Revealing a Bomb ends the round and leads into the final win sequence.

After the bonus, players can choose to gamble their winnings for a chance to double them. The chilli character takes five shots at a target, and if all of them miss, the stake is lost. BGaming says this is the first time it has used such a mechanic.

Igor Bondarenko, product owner of publishing at BGaming, said the aim was to give players more control over the bonus through simple choices that are easy to grasp immediately. He added that picking the boxes creates tension around each reveal, and that the Gamble round extends the idea into one final, potentially game-changing decision.

BGaming recently released Red Hot Chilli Chickens, another chilli-themed title, which follows three chickens in a kitchen.
