Gaming Corps signs content deal with Veikkaus ahead of Finland's July 2027 market opening
Swedish studio Gaming Corps has agreed a content partnership with Finnish state operator Veikkaus, starting with its slots catalogue. The deal comes as Finland prepares to move from a monopoly to a licence-based market on 1 July 2027.
Gaming Corps, a Swedish game developer listed on Nasdaq First North Growth Market, announced on 26 October 2026 a content partnership with Veikkaus, Finland's state-owned gambling operator. The first phase covers the studio's slots catalogue, including established titles, proprietary mechanics and the 3 Pigs franchise, which Gaming Corps describes as its most recognisable intellectual property.
The agreement leaves room for expansion into the wider portfolio over time. That could include table, mine, plinko and multiplier games, as well as proprietary formats such as Smash4Cash, A-MAZE-CADES and X-MY-WAY. Gaming Corps has been treating state-owned and lottery operators as a strategic segment, and the company reported net revenue of MSEK 21.1 for the second quarter of 2026, up 106% year on year. It has also signed deals with Entain, evoke plc and Games Global in recent months.
Veikkaus is widening its supplier base ahead of Finland's shift from a state monopoly to a competitive licensing system on 1 July 2027. Earlier additions include Playtech for live casino, OpenBet for its sportsbook platform and 1X2 Network for slots content. The operator's first-half 2026 interim report showed 2,672,000 registered customers, about 50,000 more than a year earlier, with 64.5% of gross gaming revenue coming from digital channels.
Veikkaus currently holds an exclusive mandate covering lottery, sports betting, online casino and instant games through its online platform, as well as a land-based network that includes Casino Helsinki and 44 gaming arcades. Under the new Gambling Act, it will keep exclusive rights over lotteries, scratchcards, physical slot machines and land-based casino games. It will, however, compete with licensed operators for online casino and betting customers.
Graham Greensmith, Chief Commercial Officer at Gaming Corps, said the studio has built its business around variety and that this breadth could be an advantage as competition in Finland increases. Riikka Seppänen, Vice President, iCasino at Veikkaus, said Gaming Corps delivered its content in record time and with real precision, adding that the speed and execution are valuable as the company prepares for the changes ahead in Finland.
