Powerball jackpot passes $500 million to reach $516M after no top-prize winner on October 7

No ticket matched all six numbers in the October 7 Powerball drawing, so the jackpot has grown to an estimated $516 million. Three players won $100,000 each with Power Play, and no Match 5 prize was awarded.

The Powerball jackpot has climbed past the half-billion-dollar mark after the drawing on Wednesday, October 7, produced no jackpot winner. The top prize had been set at $485 million, with a cash option of $199.7 million, before the drawing took place.

The winning numbers were 11, 13, 14, 21 and 65, with a red Powerball of 19 and a Power Play multiplier of 2x. Because no ticket matched all six numbers, the jackpot rolled over and is now estimated at $516 million. A winner would be able to choose between the full amount paid as an annuity or a one-time lump sum of $212.6 million.

No player matched all five white numbers either, so no Match 5 prize was awarded in this drawing. That prize is worth $1 million, or $2 million when Power Play is active. Lower tiers did produce winners, however. Eight players who matched four white numbers plus the Powerball won $50,000 each, while three others in the same category took home $100,000 each thanks to the Power Play multiplier.

The result effectively ended a four-week run of drawings that each produced at least one Match 5 winner. The most recent such prize was a $2 million payout in Louisiana. Before that, one drawing awarded four comparable prizes: players in Illinois, New York and North Carolina each won $1 million, and a player in Puerto Rico won $2 million with Power Play.

The next Powerball drawing is scheduled for this Saturday, with the jackpot continuing to grow if no ticket matches all six numbers.
