Casino game provider Hacksaw Gaming has announced a business-to-business prediction markets platform, expanding beyond its established gaming technology business. The launch follows the creation of Hacksaw Ventures in March, an investment and acceleration division aimed at early-stage iGaming companies.

The Malta Gaming Authority has extended Hacksaw's B2B Critical Gaming Supply License to include Type 3 Gaming Services, which sit alongside the company's existing Type 1 authorisation. The approval allows Hacksaw to offer B2B peer-to-peer prediction market services within the MGA regulatory framework.

The platform is designed to let online gaming operators introduce prediction markets without building or maintaining the underlying technology. Operators can draw on Hacksaw's infrastructure, distribution network and existing integrations while keeping control of their brands, customer relationships and user experience. Hacksaw intends to supply the technology rather than run a consumer-facing platform of its own.

A central feature is a connected volume framework that links peer-to-peer participation across Hacksaw's network of operators. Attracting enough participants is a common challenge for new entrants, and the shared pool is meant to give partners access to broader participation from launch instead of each operator having to build volume independently. The company plans to rely on its current technology, commercial relationships and development team, supporting the expansion within its existing cost base.

The move comes amid rising interest in event-based trading. Bernstein, the equity research and brokerage firm, has estimated that annual prediction market trading volumes could reach about $1 trillion by 2030.

Ana Vrabic Verdir, group chief executive officer of Hacksaw Group, described prediction markets as a compelling new opportunity at the intersection of technology, entertainment and market participation. She said the company's platform, distribution capabilities and operator relationships could help it expand into the category and create long-term value for customers, partners and shareholders. Marcus Cordes, Hacksaw Gaming's operational chief executive officer, said the platform would let operators access prediction market capabilities more efficiently by using technology and commercial infrastructure built up over several years.

The launch is another step in Hacksaw's push into adjacent digital gaming categories. Its commercial performance and adoption among operators remain to be seen.
