Mohegan Sun dealer Emely Pascual-Alvarez wins second G2E Dealer Championship in Las Vegas

A table games dealer from Mohegan Sun in Connecticut has won the second annual G2E Dealer Championship, held during the Global Gaming Expo (G2E) in Las Vegas. The winner is Emely Pascual-Alvarez, who works at the Connecticut casino.

Pascual-Alvarez earned her place at the championship by beating more than 20 other Mohegan Sun dealers in an internal contest that ran over two days. At G2E, she competed in blackjack and roulette against dealers from across North America.

The championship lasted three days and featured around 50 dealers. Participants were scored on a 10-point scale, with judges assessing skill, technical ability, professionalism and the quality of the player experience. As champion, Pascual-Alvarez received a $5,000 prize.

Describing the experience, she said the event was incredible and that winning felt surreal, given the number of leading North American casino dealers she competed against. She said the moment would stay with her. In a statement, she said: "This has been such a memorable experience, and a huge thank you goes out to G2E, my colleagues, and Mohegan Sun leadership who were behind me the whole way."

Separately, Mohegan recently appointed Kristi Hanney as vice president, deputy general counsel. Hanney, who has been part of the company's legal team since 2022, is tasked with overseeing the Mohegan Legal Department, along with entity management, litigation, finance and development initiatives, budgeting and administration.

Earlier this year, Mohegan also reported that its Casino of the Sky and Casino of the Earth at Mohegan Sun had paid out several large prizes. The largest cited was a $374,884 payout linked to a five-card royal flush in a game of blackjack.
