The Missouri Gaming Commission has published its September report, showing that casino revenue in the state grew compared with the same month a year earlier. Total revenue for the month came to $165.1 million, an increase of 5.5% year on year.

Slot machines drove the result. Slot revenue reached $143.6 million, which the source describes as an 8% year-on-year rise. Table games moved in the opposite direction, generating $21.4 million, a decline of roughly 7% from the previous year.

Ameristar St. Charles was the top-performing property for the month, reporting adjusted gross revenue (AGR) of $25.7 million, up 10% year on year. Its year-to-date AGR stands at $79.4 million. River City followed with $21.8 million for September and $69.7 million year to date, while Hollywood Casino reported $21.6 million for the month and $62 million for the year so far.

Argosy recorded the strongest growth among Missouri casinos, with AGR rising about 15% to $12.1 million in the source's narrative, and its year-to-date revenue reached $40.6 million. The source's property-by-property table lists Argosy at $13.9 million, so the two figures differ. Century Cape, IOC Boonville and Harrah's Kansas City saw AGR fall by 5%, 4% and 2% respectively.

The commission's property-level list shows the following results: IOC Boonville $7.6 million (-4%), Century Caruthersville $5.2 million (+13%), Harrah's Kansas City $14.7 million (-2%), Century Cape $5.3 million (-5%), Bally's Kansas City $10.9 million (+7%), Horseshoe St. Louis $14.4 million (+9%), Ameristar Kansas City $17 million (+8%), Mark Twain $2.9 million (+6%) and St. Jo Frontier $3.9 million (+13%). Hollywood is listed at $21.6 million (+3%), River City at $21.8 million (+1%) and Ameristar St. Charles at $25.7 million (+10%).

Overall, the September figures point to a broadly positive month for Missouri's licensed casinos, with most properties posting gains even as table game activity softened. Full details are available from the commission.
