Search-based analytics from Blask, extracted on 13 October 2026, show how Germany's gambling brands rank depending on the metric used. Vulkan Vegas leads the Brand Accumulated Power (BAP) ranking with 18.59%, less than one percentage point ahead of Tipico at 17.91%. NV Casino is third with 15.55%, followed by Bet365 at 7.03% and Merkur at 4.16%. The top three together hold slightly over 52% of measured BAP, and the top five a little over 63%.

Tipico takes first place for customer acquisition and earning potential, with an estimated competitive earning baseline of $446.75 million. Vulkan Vegas recorded the strongest yearly growth among the top 10 brands, with brand interest up nearly 260%.

Overall consumer interest declined across most gambling categories. Online casino interest was down 12.26% year-on-year, even though several leading brands grew. Prediction markets expanded fastest, rising 283.30% year-on-year, but remain one of the smallest categories by measured interest.

The analysis also sets out the regulatory context. Germany's online market operates under the State Treaty on Gambling 2021, in force since 1 July 2021. The Joint Gambling Authority of the Federal States (GGL) licenses online sports betting, virtual slots and online poker, while online casino table games such as roulette and blackjack are regulated by individual federal states, which may run them, license a limited number of operators, or prohibit them. A licence for one product therefore does not cover others.

Player protection rules include a standard monthly deposit limit of €1,000 across operators, with higher limits allowed under certain conditions, and a standard maximum virtual slot stake of €1 per spin. Since 1 July 2026, approved operators can offer stakes of up to €5 to eligible players aged 21 or over, provided extra requirements such as behaviour monitoring are met. Operators must also verify identities, check the OASIS national exclusion system, and have systems to detect harmful play and prevent simultaneous gambling with several operators.

Blask tracks 388 gambling brands in Germany, and not all hold a German licence. Co-founder and CEO Max Tesla told European Gaming that the platform collects sites appearing in Google for localised iGaming queries, filters out affiliates and media with two AI models, and has a human review the remainder. Each brand is then labelled Local or International depending on licensing. The Blask Index measures demand from normalised search data, with mirror domains merged per brand, so the rankings include operators without a German licence.
