Sahara Las Vegas has introduced cryptocurrency payments at its main cage, making it the first casino on the Las Vegas Strip to offer the option. Guests can deposit Bitcoin, Ethereum and Litecoin and receive USD chips or slot tickets in return.

The arrangement is not crypto betting in the strict sense. Every token is converted into US dollars before a player can place a wager, so gambling itself remains dollar-based. The property also limits the service to casino funding: crypto cannot be used to pay for hotel rooms, restaurant meals or other purchases.

The feature is powered by BurraPay, the same payments provider behind a comparable scheme at Circa Resort & Casino in downtown Las Vegas. Sahara is therefore not the first Las Vegas casino to accept crypto in this way, but it is the first on the Strip. BurraPay's system received approval from the Nevada Gaming Control Board earlier this year.

Several conditions apply. BurraPay charges a 5% fee on deposits. Users must be at least 21 years old, hold an active Infinity Rewards account and have their identification verified before they can make a crypto deposit.

Craig Pleva, general manager of Sahara Las Vegas, described the move as a natural next step that gives guests greater flexibility and convenience while embracing the innovation shaping the future of Las Vegas. The company said the addition reflects its continued evolution toward a modern, seamless experience for visitors.

Luke Millanta, co-founder and chief technology officer of BurraPay, said the Strip launch was a natural progression after the Circa rollout earlier this year. Both Sahara and BurraPay stated that they are committed to offering crypto deposits in a compliant manner and to working to prevent financial fraud.
