24Karot Games has released its debut slot, Buffalo Horizon, on 8 October 2026. The title is distributed to operators through Yggdrasil's YGG Champions programme, which the studio joined in August 2026.
YGG Champions was launched by Yggdrasil in June 2026 as a house-of-brands programme. It gives independent studios access to the publisher's publishing infrastructure and distribution network, while letting them keep their own creative identity. 24Karot is the fourth studio to join, following founding members Suits & Royals, Slightly Edgy and Fish & Chips. Studios build their games on Yggdrasil's Game in a Box technology, a common technical foundation intended to speed up development and distribution across regulated markets.
Buffalo Horizon uses a 5x3 reel grid with a separate 3x1 Rooftop Slot positioned above it. Four symbol types can appear in the Rooftop Slot: Ranger Symbols, Expanding Wilds, Rooftop Free Spin Symbols and Blank Symbols. The Rooftop Slot feeds two bonus pathways, triggered by combinations landing either in that reel layer or on the main grid.
A Wild landing in the Rooftop Slot activates the Expanding Wild feature, which converts an entire reel section to Wild. Free Spins can be triggered in two ways: by three Rooftop Free Spin Symbols in the Rooftop Slot, or by three Free Spins symbols anywhere on the main reels. A third mode, Ranger Spins, starts when three Ranger Symbols land in the Rooftop Slot. It awards three spins and reveals a standard symbol that expands into a 3x3 block, which stays fixed on the centre reels for the session.
The theme draws on American national park imagery with a buffalo at its centre. Buffalo-themed slots have been a staple of land-based casino floors since Aristocrat's original release in 2008, and the concept has been widely replicated since. The 24Karot team said buffalo games offer a nostalgic Wild West feel, and that the studio aims to take such concepts and deliver light-hearted entertainment.
Yggdrasil, founded in 2013 and headquartered in Malta, has a portfolio of more than 400 titles, including Vikings Go Berzerk and Valley of the Gods. Alongside YGG Champions, it runs the YGG Masters programme for partner studios.
