New Jersey Lottery scratch-off players win two $1M top prizes in one week
Two $20 New Jersey Lottery scratch-off tickets, one in Middlesex County and one in Monmouth County, each won a $1 million top prize last week. The Diamond Dazzler game has now given out all of its top prizes.
The New Jersey Lottery reported two seven-figure scratch-off wins in a single week, with $1 million prizes claimed on tickets sold in Middlesex and Monmouth counties.
The first ticket was a $100 Million Diamond Dazzler game, sold on October 14 at Wawa #8315, located at 3600 US Highway 9 in Old Bridge. It carried a $1 million prize, one of the game's top awards. Lottery officials have not released any information on the winner, and it is not known whether the prize has been claimed.
The $20 game launched with three $1 million top prizes. According to the lottery's website, none remain, which suggests the Old Bridge ticket took the last one. The game also began with 24 second-tier prizes of $10,000, and five of those are still available.
The second win came on October 16, when a player in Monmouth County took a $1 million prize from a Black Opal 7's ticket. It was bought at Mak on Main Liquors, 1500 Main St. in Asbury Park. Black Opal 7's is also a $20 game, and it also launched with three $1 million top prizes.
The Asbury Park ticket may be the first top prize claimed from Black Opal 7's, since the lottery's website still lists two $1 million prizes in the game. The game started with 60 second-tier prizes of $10,000, and 50 of them are still unclaimed.
Separately, a New Jersey player recently won $2 million in Mega Millions, according to the report.
Prize-remaining data of this kind is published by state lotteries for each instant game and shows how many top and second-tier prizes are left. Lotteries typically update these figures as winning tickets are validated.
