Mega Millions jackpot rises to $482M after Friday draw produces no top-prize or Match 5 winners
No ticket matched all six numbers in Friday's Mega Millions draw, lifting the jackpot to $482 million for the next drawing. Only three five-figure prizes were won, and no Match 5 winners were recorded.
The Mega Millions jackpot has grown again after the Friday, October 30 drawing produced neither a top-prize winner nor any Match 5 winners. The advertised prize for that draw was $463 million, with a cash option of $194.9 million, and nobody matched all six numbers to claim it.
As a result, the top prize rises to $482 million for the next drawing, scheduled for November 3 at 11 pm ET. A winner of that draw who chose the lump sum would receive $203.6 million. The jackpot is now moving toward the $500 million mark.
The winning numbers drawn on Friday were 5, 10, 38, 49 and 68, with the gold Mega Ball 17. Only a handful of players matched four white numbers plus the Mega Ball, which produced three five-figure prizes. One player won $20,000 with a 2x multiplier, while two others won $30,000 each with a 3x multiplier.
The previous drawing also had no big winners. It produced six five-figure payouts, including four prizes of $30,000, and the drawing before that likewise had no Match 5 wins.
The most recent Match 5 win in the game was a $5 million prize claimed in New York on October 16. Before that, players in New Jersey and Florida matched all five white numbers and won $2 million and $3 million respectively.
Mega Millions is not the only large jackpot currently building in the US market. The Powerball jackpot is approaching $800 million, and it remains to be seen which of the two top prizes will be won first.
