Scientific Games names Dan Flynn permanent CEO as Kevin Schneider becomes board chair
Lottery supplier Scientific Games has appointed Dan Flynn as chief executive, effective November 2. Interim CEO Kevin Schneider moves to the role of board chair.
Scientific Games, a supplier of lottery games, technology, analytics and services to government-sponsored lotteries, has confirmed a permanent chief executive. The company announced on November 5 that Dan Flynn has been appointed CEO, with the appointment effective from November 2.
Flynn takes over from Kevin Schneider, who had been serving as interim CEO since September 2026. Schneider was installed on an interim basis after Pat McHugh resigned from the chief executive post earlier this year. McHugh left the role on September 8 and became vice chairman of the company. With the leadership change, Schneider will now serve as chair of the board.
Scientific Games described Flynn as an executive with three decades of business and leadership experience across global operations, enterprise technology and strategic transformation. Most recently he was chief transformation officer at CDK Global, a Brookfield portfolio company that provides integrated technology solutions to automotive retailers. He has worked at CDK Global in two separate periods. During the first, from 2016 to 2019, he led its software and hardware delivery organizations as well as businesses serving state and municipal customers.
Schneider welcomed the appointment and praised Flynn's operational and technology leadership, saying his experience makes him a strong fit and will help the business build on its momentum and take advantage of growth opportunities. In a statement, Schneider said the two would help customers meet changing player expectations and succeed in an increasingly competitive marketplace.
Flynn said the role aligns closely with his background and that he looks forward to applying that experience. He said the leadership team would build on the company's achievements, support employee development and strengthen the capabilities needed for future growth. According to Flynn, the focus will be on delivering the games, technology and services that help lotteries meet their objectives and responsibly grow funding for good causes.
Scientific Games also said Flynn will join its team at the World Lottery Summit in Sydney, running from November 9 to November 13. There he is expected to meet lottery customers, partners and industry leaders.
